Thinking of going to Green lake ( free camp ) Vic about mid Jan, never been there. Can someone tell me if I would get in, I hear it's popular. Any info is helpful.

Hello and welcome. If you mean Greens just out of Shepparton, only because there is a couple, there is a full sub-forum on it under get togethers. A great place, always room for one more.
Hello Nettles May I be one of the first to welcome you to the forum
Coming from the West, I am not sure which Green Lake you are talking about
The Camps Australia Wide 8 book, or WikiCamps Australia apps, will give information of the facilities in each and every camp
Hope that this info is useful to you

We spent 4 nights at Green Lake near Sea Lake/Lake Tyrell on a recent trip.
It's a proper caravan park, not a free camp. Cost is $20 per night with power to be placed in box at entrance.
Mozzies were HELL! No water in the lake for many years.

Ok, here is my take on it.
We are currently camped at the GREEN LAKE recreation camp which is located about 40 klms east of Shepparton on the Midland Highway in Victoria. Coming from Shepp there is a large sign, but coming from the west that is from Elmore or for that matter Rochester the turn off is about 3 to 4 klms east of a small village called Corp. There is no sign from this end of the highway. So keep a close eye open for the turnoff.
This would have to be one of if not the best free camp beside a lake or river that we have encountered.
Toilet Rubbish skips and a dump point. No drinking water or power.
Yes it can get very windy ... like it is today......... BUT YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW it was / and will be P E R F E C T.
Put it on your bucket list.
Highly recommend if you are fully self contained.

It's called GreenS Lake and the nearest town is Corop, not Corp.

Yep...spot on. One is green lake (further west) and this one is GreenS Lake. Nice spot but gets ver busy. We were there a few months ago and nearly became a houseboat when the wind and flood decided to do a sneak attack one night. I prefer parking up from the shore on the second highest roadway.
Gday...
The Green Lake that is "The GN Mecca" is where those on here are talking about is here -
