A FIRE OUT OF CONTROL HAS IMPACTED THE EYRE HIGHWAY 15 KM EAST OF BORDER VILLAGE(WA BORDER). TRAVELLERS URGED TO MODIFY THEIR TRAVEL PLANS UNTIL THE AREA HAS BEEN DECLARED SAFE.
The Old Eyre Highway might be an option for some, otherwise just wait if they close the Highway?
EDIT....

The Highway is currently closed...

Personally don't think the Old Eyre Highway is an option. I wouldn't travel into the unknown with no knowledge of road conditions or the behaviour of the fire I would rather wait until they open the highway.
Fire is now impacting Old Eyre Highway

The fire is travelling north to south. The old highway is likely to be in the thick of the fire.

The highway reopened last night I understand, but definitely open again now.
