A teenager has been struck by lightning during dangerous thunderstorms in Queensland's south-east that caused structural damage and left thousands without power.
Ambulance reported that one teenager was struck by lightning at Allora on the Darling Downs while he was holding a metal door in the front section of the house.
It is unknown how serious his injuries are.
Firefighters said one home had been struck by lightning causing a house fire at Russell Island off Brisbane.
Energex listed more than26,000 customers without power, including more than3,900 across the Lockyer Valley, 1,800 in the Scenic Rim, 3,800 in Ipswich and 3,100 in Logan.
There were also about 1,600 outages in Brisbane's CBD.
Storm Clouds gather over Caravans in Boohan, in Queensland's South.
Thunder Storms plunge much of Brisbane's CBD into darkness.

Slightly off target here at Bribie Island, no heavy rain/hail, but lots of light shows and noise. Caravan park currently out of power, thank god for solar on caravan, can continue with our evening. Presume your photos was of Boonah.

It looked pretty savage here in Eight Mile Plains on Brisse South side ... Lots of wind and tremendous lightning ground strikes. Unplugged all the electrical gear. Only a bit of rain & no hail here.
Not enough to interrupt our home cooked Pizza dinner. I cracked a bottle of Riddock Coonawarra Cab Sav. as we watched the display.
Lucky this time round.

Speaking of luck during Thursday nights storm we received some small hail while other areas of the village received tennis ball size hail stones. Glad because we just had a new solar hot water system installed.
