I am copying from a recent email some unique news about the town I visited some time ago, and particularly remember the Mine Tour organized by the town people.
The tour has stopped and now there is a chance the lookout will have no monuments to the coal mining days. When I first saw the 9W dragline I thought how great a monument to be left at the lookout and now a campaign has started to save the lookout...
Safe travels and adventures!

Dear Friends,
I just signed the campaign: Save the Leigh Creek Coal Monuments
It would mean the world to me if you could also add your name to this important issue. Every name that is added builds momentum around the campaign and makes it more likely for us to get the change we want to see.
Will you join me by taking action on this campaign?
May I be one of the first to welcome you to the forum
Unfortunately although I am not one to join any, email pass them along chains, I do thank you for putting up this information
As you have already said, have safe travels and adventures

Welcome to the gang Flinders, enjoy here and out in the playground.
It's a shame when these things happen. I lived in Wonthaggi Sth West GIppsland for many many moons. The attraction to us was the coal mining history in the town that the local council let go down to the gods but now they regret it. Maybe one day they will have more history available to the tourist.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Lets hope the campaign gets legs, that old 9W dragline walks at three miles per hour, one of only four brought to Australia from Wisconsin in the 1950s,
why does the government want to destroy the heritage and then spend millions on tourism for the Flinders..I am going to hoot my horn next time I drive through the Flinders in support - maybe other travellers can hoot their horn as well !!
