Never forget the past that has brought you to the present !
.. due to the normal daily activities of life, we can easily become occupied with those simple duties & tasks that enable us to get through each day with some semblence of satisfaction and achievement ..
I was busily occupied with getting the Caravan kitchen sink cleared of its contents before I could pop down to the local hot-pool to join some of the other "grumpy old men" and women who enjoy sharing a bit of gossip ..
While reaching up above the fridge to place a saucepan back into its storage location in a cupboard, I accidently bumped something (which I hadn't spotted) causing it to fall out of the cupboard onto the floor and landing with a loud bang ..
Each year on the 19th November I burn a candle in memory of my loving wife who passed away in 2003 .. so I picked up the fallen candle in its glass housing, saw that it was all fully intact and lit a flame .. leaving me to ponder this moment of reality.
Yes .. It was a reminder !

A lovely thought and memory Jon. I too burn a candle every 26th May (wife) and another on 9th October (son) for same reason.
Keep Safe, mate.

Yes Jonathan, a lovely thought and I'm sure that candle brings back fond memories too as well as sadness.

Very true Bryan .. I think we are lucky if we can move on in life as we can take our memories with us, rather than to dwell on what might have been ..
