Happy retirement Mick and Noreen and hope to see you out there. I bet you're really going to miss that concrete when you're sitting around the fire and having a few drinks for happy hour with all the new friends you meet. Happy travels to you both

Our first trip in our new van 18 months ago was to Buronga. I'm guessing that's not a big trip for you. Then Gol Gol 6 months later on the way home from Port Lincoln and Streaky Bay. Been retired for 11 years and no idea how I had any time to go to work.

Enjoy your retirement Mickie, I did the same thing last year and have never looked back. When someone asks me what I am going to do today, tomorrow, next month or even next year my answer is always 'whatever I feel like'.

If you think concreting was hard yakka, wait until you get further into retirement.
Hardest job I have ever had ... that is making a success of retirement.
But the most enjoyable. Have been doing so for 21 years now.
You guys are in for a new experience.
Good luck

Welcome to the ranks of the retired and welcome to the forum.
We have spent time at Mildura "house sitting" and loved the area and the good people. Unfortunately it is a bit distant from every thing else. Had the need to visit Jayco Mildura and were happy with their help and assistance. In fact they gave me the plumber's contact to install the gas heater and the unit came from Green RV Gympie.
Congratulations on your purchase of the Starcraft Outback. We currently travel with 2013 Sterling Outback and when we retire from "house sitting" we will probably down size to the "Starcraft".
Unlike others who are still 'crying" in their milk take the Starcraft for a "shake down" run that will reveal some issues and then take the van back to Jayco Mildura and they will correct any issues. After 3 years we still have a little issue with creaking floor in the ensuite. But, Jayco Warranty and Peter Manning are still on the job and Jayco Dubbo will try to correct the problem at the end of the month. And yes, I booked the annual servie in some 2+ months ago that is understood and accepted practice if you own a Jayco and want to use their Dealers.
All the best in retirement and you have gotta love your "Jayco".

Nice to hear of someone just starting out on their big adventure. Happy retirement. I did it nearly 23 years ago & have enjoyed every minute of it. In the near future we will be putting on the brakes & stopping in one place. The TIME HAS COME!! Alice

Hello Mickle
As others have already said, welcome to the forum
The jump from the employment playground, into the retirement playground, is sometimes very daunting
In a few years time, you will be wondering why you did not retire years earlier
Wherever you decide to go on your first trip, I hope that it is very enjoyable
