A bit late now but I just installed a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller.
A friend told me that he went to his Auto Elec to have the same installed but the Elec was very critical of them & convinced him to install something else (don't know what).
All the reports that I have seen have been positive.
It seems that the main complaint was faulty operation due to proximity of other electronic gear.
Have any of you people experienced or heard of problems with the P3?

I think there is a warning with them that high power mobile radios can effect them. However we only use 5 W CB and there has been no forum reports about them effecting Tekonsha controllers. I have the original Prodigy (has the same engine to drive the brakes but less monitoring) and have had no problems.
Those blokes tend to sell and fit something that gives them a better profit so they run other models down.

Never had a problem with it. Installed it myself and am very happy with it.

I have same brand but different model - Primus IQ which I have moved in and out of 3 different tugs without ever having a problem at all.

Tekonsha Primus IQ - works great, proportional sensing is the way to go.

Mine P3 has been installed for about five years, I transferred it across to my new vehicle three years ago.
Have never had any trouble once I set the braking level for the two vans I have owned. (The first one required a setting of zero otherwise it locked up the van brakes!)
