Many years ago when I did my time as a fitter and machinist I was taught to wear a hair net when operating machinery - from those years of intensive training it is easy for me to spot that this guy could easily get his hair caught in the blade as soon as it starts moving. BG we might be getting a little bit older but it proves that the safety experts of yesteryear weren't wasting their time when they taught us how to identify possible hazards in the workplace. Well spotted with the gloves but lets give him the benefit of the doubt on that one he's probably only holding them between his legs until he can get the damn thing started
Remember fellow grey nomads safety is no accident.(learnt that one too).

Looking a bit closer for the hidden dangers
It looks to me as though he is using two hands on the pull cord, because it does not have a handle at the end, but a big knot.
If the motor should kick back, or he pulls the rope too far, he will get a rope burn on the palm of his hand

How many times has he been told to wear ear muffs?
As we slowly move through (or into) retirement,
we need to keep ourselves occupied with small projects.
Like this guy!
As we age, we often get careless about safety issues
I know, I saw it right away too....
No safety glasses or hearing protection.
And I caught something else that is really important:
He has no gloves on.
I might be up in age but I am still sharp as a tack.
We need to stay alert for dangers.
Stay safe, my friend!
Cheers
