Colleen and I will be in Tassie from early Nov. till early March. If anyone else is going down and want to catch up, yell out.
Cant wait to get there, just hope it's not too cold. I was in Hobart one Xmas day and it was 10c we were all huddled around the fireplace keeping warm. Hope to catch up with some GNs while there. Cheers Sarg.

We had snow on Cradle Mountain on 6th December - fantastic sight - we walked round Dove Lake, started up rugged up, ended up stripping to t shirts, and we could see the snow melting as we walked.
Enjoy yourselves - though I reckon it will be cold to start with.

Sarg, you are 12 months late for us. We were there from October to May last season. Loved every minute of it. We experienced snow, rain, fires, summer (for about three days) Xmas & New Year at Mt Field, Easter at Marrawah. Storms on the strait, calm weather in the wilderness. WE even experienced Targa! I think we had the whole gambit. Enjoy every moment of your trip. (Don't for get to find Sheffielder in Sheffield and say Hi to Daffy Francis around the Huon.)

Loved it also and you are going at a good time. Check my blog for places I went also. (most of it). You MUST see 'The Wall' at Derwent Bridge.

The fast yellow boat ride off of Bruney Island (Adventure Bay) is one of the best things we did in Tassy - out into the ocean - heading straight for cliffs, back into caves, amazing fun.
Also ****le Creek is fantastic! Bottom of the country!

Yes Jules, ****le creek is a beautiful place and the walk south(although lengthy)is worth it.At the end you are 3000 kms from the antartic, strange rocks and soil and wild ocean.
Sarge, I will be heading home on the boat sun 28th, I live in Somerset, so if you are around the NW any time after that let me know and drop in for a meal and a breather.
I will be heading down to StHelens for a spot of 'blackback salmon mid December, so I will be home for a couple of weeks.
