Leaving tomorrow through to Kilcoy then on to Toogoolawah then Esk.

Does anyone know the Kilcoy/Beerwah road and how hilly/narrow?

Appreciate thoughts or should try alternative through Caboolture? Much longer..........

I used to live in Esk for a couple of years and travelled regularly up to Hervey Bay via Yarraman Blackbut  Tiaro Etc. I also used to travel from Esk to the Eumundi Markets trying all the different routes. Beerwah to Kilcoy is not too bad, Some windy bits but nothing to worry about.  D'Aguilar Highway is pretty good . The route you go is always full of vans and MotorHomes  so it's a popular choice.

There is a servo at Harlin with diesel at $1.09 it has been that price for months now and doesn't go up and down.so if you have diesel it's a good place to fill up.

Check your map, at Peachester take Commissioners Flat rd,  it saves you going up and over the Peachester range.  All sealed road, and a lot quicker.

If you're at Peachester you're pretty well at the top of the range and it's all down hill whichever way you go. Personally I'd stick to the main road. If you want to avoid going through Peachester and over the range, a bit longer though, go straight north from Beerwah to Caboolture (old Bruce Hwy) then west on the D'Aguilar Highway. You don't go into Caboolture either. I've towed a 24' van over the Peachester range a couple of times going both ways and right up to Maleny once , no problems. Just take it very easy/slowly, low gear going down as it's a goodly distance to the bottom.

Are you at the sports ground at Beerwah ?  as above but we came from donnybrook turn left just past woodford out to villanvue no hills use it all the time good road towing a 22 ft van

Forget commisioner flat road if towing just keep going, from Beerwah all good road, six k out you hit the run up the range for 3 k, windy but good surface, through Peachester for about 8 k then down the range. Once again windy but good surface from the bottom a easy run to the T intersection, turn right then 20 k to Kilcoy.

Feel like a coffee in Peachester give me. PM but have to be gone by 10:15 Am for dental appointment. My home Territory.

Commisioner Flat Rd is considered local only , narrow and still a lot of bends down hill, even when I drive just the car I do not bother with it as it is easier just to continue along the main road.

 We went to the Sunny Coast last week   and back, I go via Commissioner Flat road every time. A local who lives their told me about it years ago when some of it was gravel surface.

 Lovely spot - we were there earlier in the year, fabulous!  If you want to stop in the Brisbane Valley, try Toogoolawah showground.  Caretakers are great, facilities likewise, and the town's atmosphere is lovely.

 very dry in the area at the moment, opted for Esk caravan park and currently enjoying that
