Has anyone fitted one of these gadgets. I have a 4 cyl. Mazda diesel, non turbo. The sales pitch is good, but.......?

A few years ago ...I bought a Nissan Patrol with a RB30 motor in it (a 3 litre 6 petrol carby model)...and it had one fitted in the air cleaner. These trucks are fairly lethargic out of the box ....and this one was no different ....and boy could it suck the juice. I removed the so called economiser and it went a whole lot better on fuel....but still leisurely.
So Pipes...IMO...that economiser made a good but expensive Frisbee. Think it is still adorning a nail on the wall somewhere in my shed.
As for getting that damn reliable RB 30 to get up and boogie is a whole nuther story .....but the hiclone definatly wasn't a part of the story. Wish I had kept that old truck...it turned out to be a ripper.
Cheers Keith

N/P Pipes.
My solution that would help your motor and free it up a bit would be to mod and free up the engine breathing ....both in and out.
Fit a snorkel and remove any restrictions to the airbox on intake ..ie ...maybe fit a larger airbox with more filter area , and direct it away from hot air if you cant fit a snorkel. Then a larger diameter exhaust with a free-flowing muffler that dumps out just before rear wheels on whatever side exhaust manifold is on ...at least 65mm dia...or even better...75mm. And speaking of exhaust manifold....find out if a set of extractors can be fitted...these are some benefit. Also the usual things like keeping injectors in good nick...but I guess you would know all that hey. I did this to my current Patrol...and by itself there was a marked improvement in motor response and power...so it was well worth doing. Did a few other mods as well....but as yours isn't turbo... doesn't apply here.
Cheers Keith

Hey patrol 03 as an old farmer I have to inform you that, that little ditty is in fact not true as tits on a bull are important, you see if a bull has deformed tits then so it is quite possible that his heifer progeny will also have deformities and as such not make a good mother.
So there you have it Tits on a bull although seemingly not "useful" they are however important.
Just another piece information for your useless information file

10% fuel saving with a hyclone, what a wonderful thing, now I am going to stack 10 on top of each other and have zero fuel consumption, what a wonderful thing.
Reminds me years ago a snake oil saleman told my uncle that if he used the product in his diesel boat he could go 10 knots quicker. boat had a displacement hull and a goverened engine and fixed pitch prop
cheers
