We are fairly new to this forum and we will be retiring at the end of 2016.
Our plan is to travel for most of the year at least for 2017 and I have started a blog for family and friends to be able to follow us if they wish. It may not be as professional as some but I am not that good when it comes to all things computer.

Good start to your Blog Geoff, keep up the good work. That view at Cowleys Beach is terrible mate, you will have to do better than that :)

Hahaha! Thanks Doug,
I hope our travels can include many similar places to Cowleys, it is certainly a great spot.
i would imagine that most camps on the east coast would be a bit busier than Cowleys most of the year.
I have been to Cowleys for work in the past and I can actually remember seeing six vanners/RVers there at one time. This was more in the summer time.

No need to apologise for your blogging ability.
I just had a bit of a read and found the easy conversational style to be very readable.
I just wish that we had done the same when we first started way back in 2000.
Keep up the good work.
I have put your Blogg in my 'favourites' for future mandatory reading.
Cheers & safe travels

Thank you for the compliments Cupie.
Before starting the blog I read a lot of others and tried to keep our blog simple and easily readable if that is the term I should use.
I will keep it mainly detailing our travels and experiences on the road so as not to create any menu confusion. Unfortunately I dont finish work until the 16th Dec so will not be doing much more blogging until next year.
Thank you for following..

Thank you Dunmowin,
Retirement can't come quick enough now.
We have a house on the market as well and the sale of that will help top up the super fund a bit.
The house we are selling is far too big for our requirements in retirement but fortunately we had purchased a smaller home as a base for our work in another town some years ago and so we are fortunate enough to be able to use this place as a home base when not on the road.
We obviously can not leave or at least travel too far if it hasn't sold as we will have to return for settlement.
All in all we can't wait...

We put a house on the market shortly after retirement & went off for a trip.
We given our Daughter Enduring Power of Attorney & registered that power with the State Gov. or whatever so she was able to complete the sale transactions for us.
Worked well in that the place sold quicker than we expected & there was no need for us to break our trip.
Helped that she & husband were our tenants at the time so they had moved into our family home while I did the pre sale renovations. She is an accountant as well so the financials were no problem.

That is a good idea Cupie and it sounds like it worked out well for you.
Our daughter unfortunately lives 3000 kls away but we are hoping for a reasonably quick sale.
We could not put it on the market any sooner due to work requirements prior to the sale of our business.
