Hi all, My wife and I have just signed up to the forum. Looks like some great discussions!
We are going to Darwin next year for 3 months with 2 kids in our 17.55 expands and would like to do some free camps. We want some heating just incase we cop a few cold nights along the way.
Does anyone know if there is someone in the Geelong/bellarine peninsula who would install the heater?
Cheers

A lot of money for a few nights mate.
A lot of us. just buy a $25 fan heater from woolies/coles
and turn that on the few nights you may need it.
It'd only be for the few days travelling up here.
Once North of Capricorn Highway you won't need any.
A small genny is a much more viable solution and waaay more useful
if bush camping.
Charging battery's Grinder. drill. electric chain saw.
You don't HAVE to buy the Honda, and other named ones. Overpriced units.
A lot of others are a fraction of the price.
and do same job.
I've had both. current one is Chinese with a Honda engine. and very happy.

Gidday Wiffo, from another Bellarine boy, I got a planer 2kv diesel heater 18 months ago from Pinnacle wholesalers in ballarat, I like you was A little worried about installation, !! but when you get it you will see it comes with full easy to follow instructions and everything is included in the kit, very very easy !! and works fantastic I only have 1 outlet and it heats my 21 foot van easily Big bonus of having a gas or diesel heater, is you can go away anytime even in winter, and not have to pay for powered site to run other types of heaters, !! when you work it out, 30 night at $30 in a caravan park is the same price as fitting the unit, and freecamping now is a true luxury in any weather, BEST INVESTMENT YOU CAN MAKE !! here is the link for the place I got mine and the unit I purchased, ! [ by the way ] Planer is the company that supplies the Dometic, brand !!

Hi, it runs on 240 volt, 12 volt and also has its own rechargable battery N can be recharged on 12volt if u have solar panels or in car while driving or If u have access to 240 volt can plug into that Or it can run off your battery If u have cigarette lighter type connection in caravan. Approximate rechargable battery run time is Fan on high speed Is 2.5 hrs. Fan on low speed is 3.5 hrs. And led light is 40 hrs. Do not know about your 12volt question sorry. Perhaps someone else on here Knows.

We have used the fan heaters for 40 yrs or more.
Very efficient. but you need power.
Genny does both the heater and Air cond in my van.
Mains plug in civilisation.
BUT. We have more sense than to go below Yeppoon QLD.
We stay up here in Australia.. chuckle.
Cold weather and us does not gel. Big no no.
The Few times we go South. just stop in van parks.
