Instead of using octopus straps (mine perished in the sun) to tie down you sun screens......go to your friendly tyre supplier and ask for an old truck tube or similar (they usually point you towards the rubbish bin).
Cut into rings, width depends on tension required, say 15mm.
Can be used doubled over, tied together or singularly........

Great idea.
If you need to shorten them, just twist them until they are at the best length.
I carry a plastic jar of thick ones where extra strength is required & another of thin ones that will go thru the eyelets of my annex walls.
