It was a faulty 240 Isolator that kept tripping when power turned on to van.
At Jayco for about 45 minutes while they checked everything.
Could not fault their service.
So far all working as should fridge and beer cold is the main thing.............

Radar,
You are so right.
From what I have observed here and elsewhere, this type of small issue would have been the worst thing in the world to happen to some people.
And Jayco would have been called the worst manufacturer ever to sell a caravan. It was after all just a faulty isolator......
Yes, it was a little inconvenient to have to take the esky with ice to start with, but hey, all I say is - get it fixed and move on....no biggie to us.

Peter and Judy, I believe that the idea of your shakedown trip was to find possible issues with the new rig and get them sorted out before hitting the road for an extended period. Seems to me that you have done exactly that and from what I hear regardless of the manufacturer - 90% of new Aussie van owners are going to find a problem that will need to be corrected. The feedback I've heard from Jayco owners is that they have a really good after sales service and that's must give you a lot of confidence about buying their product. Now that you know your beer is going to be cold there's not much else to worry about other than staying safe - happy travels.

Q Do you know why Jayco has the best repair people in Australia?
A Because they get more practise than all the others put together.

It says nothing for the quality control of their operations. What quality control?

Camped beside two caravans at Alice Springs a couple of years ago, both Jayco. Both owners had now end of problems, they said they would never buy another Jayco.
Another new Jayco camped beside us at Mary Pool in WA. Surprise, Surprise they found another cupboard door had fallen off when they entered the van.
Those comments came from Jayco owners, they are not my words!
