Went for our first run late Friday, only 85 k till we stopped as we left late. Decided not to fully unroll the awning only enougth to pop the top. Next morning dropped the top. Rolled in the awning and hit the road.
Stopped for lunch and could not unroll the awing to pop the top. I believe it is a Coleman Faulkner RV awning either a Summit or Ultramax.
Any ideas why it may not unroll would be appreciated. Cheers

Tried it even standing on my head can not get the awing to unroll or the arms to move out.

Now this is just a thought as I have forgotten to this but did you undo the catches on the arms at both ends? You might need to get up on some steps and try very hard to pull the arms out by hand untill the give way. Mine got caught the first time I rolled mine up as I didn't do it properly. You learn as you go sometimes.
I only this morning rolled my awning back up due to some extremely strong wind heading this way and was having trouble with it 'clipping' in. Took 3 attempts until I noticed part of one of the anti flap kit that I had put on a table near the arm was sitting behind the arm and stopping it going in properly. Amazing what can happen when you are trying to beat the wind but it's picking up as you are doing the job. All good in the end.
Hope you get it sorted sooner than soon.

try moving the awning arm the one from top to bottom to the left or right some times the alignment moves out

Have you loosened off the knobs behind the arms that allow the arms to slide. Not sure what brand mine is. Rod.

No sure about your brand but on mine it is a three step process
1. Push the small lever at the RHS of the roller to down. It sometimes gets stuck & needs a bit of a shake while trying to shift it.
2. On each arm there is a clamp/clip that allows the arm sections to separate. Click to open
3. On each arm there are wheels/screws to allow the arms to extend. Loosen
Sometimes the arms get stuck so I have to shake them up & down a few times to unstick them.
Give the whole assembly a good shake up & down and side to side. The equivalent of the proverbial kick! That'll fix it!

Come 2 pm and said to myself, self fix this and you can enjoy a glass of red. So out came the trusty ladder who by the way hates me and self climed up. First I was able to unroll the awning a bit so the spring seemed ok. Then lifting up and rocking the support arm I was able to move it out a bit. Moved to the other end and did the same then climbed down with great relieve as myself and ladders disagree a lot.
Rolled the awing out and ali seemed ok, will roll in and out a couple times next week to see how it goes. The arms appeared to be jambed / locked up at the top and I do not know why and I am not carrying a 2 metre step ladder with us where ever we go.
So for the time being that is one problem solved thank you and the proverbile kick shake.
PS The wine tasted great.

Sometimes after it's had a knock?
the side arms jam on the other one.(vertical/Slide out)
Push pull from side to side.
and sometimes you have to pull each side arm out from wall separately
to get it started.

Does anyone make a good Awning or one that stands out better than others ? I have a Dometic and it gives me a few issues Chris

A few yrs ago After"knocking" shhh. the rollout against a tree
way out of sons front garden
Mine did the lift up individually to release.
What it turned out to be was.
A few yrs under it's belt. The mounting plates they screw into chassis rail at bottomof arms, had sagged/worn a bit.
I got my trusty welder and into the lots of stainless offcuts from sailing days.
and made up a coupla mounting plates that came out from under rail and sat on bottom outside of chassis rail.
The Foot plates then BOLTED not screwed to the plate which was welded to lower face of chassis rail and outer face.
The bolts were elded with heads ground off.
to inner face of plate pointing outwards then welded to outer face too.
and happy ever after.
The mountings on some of these items. (Even Aussie Trav) leave a lot to be desired.
Where I mounted to. on Roadstar offf roaders. is the steel box sect
that comes out from main rails to both support wheel guard box
and also the mounting point for the side jacks.
So nice and substantial. To hold full side of van off ground for wheel changes.
Most of these "add ons" can be better. more securely , mounted in same area they are.
with a little ingenuity.
They just stuck on with least resistance mostly.
Everything is improvable
even for old braindead farts like me.
