Hi all. I am heading to Barossa in early November. I was going to free camp at Greenock Reserve. In Camps 8 it states 24 hours. Bugger, I wanted to stay 3 nights. Does anyone know how strict they are ? If they charge a "small fee" surely it wouldn't matter staying 3 nights as long as it isn't packed ?

perhaps talk to the local council to check if it would be ok to stay the extra couple of nights.
I don't think it wise to just stay extra time if there is a 24 hour limit, as while they may not contact you, local council rangers may be watching, and any extra time you stay may be noted and used as a reason to close the camp if you haven't got local approval.
Otherwise, there are a few nice caravan parks in the area that you could use for the extra nights.

Hi Colin,
I had a look at "Greenock Centennial Park" (don't know if it's same place) on Wikicamps.
One of the photos shows park rules, it says 7 days maximum stay. Check it out hopefully it's the same place.

Hi Colin, We stayed there in 2014 for 3or4 days. Was a donation then. $5 per night by memory. Toilets, water available and was a great spot to do the Barossa. If you do the Clare Valley try the Reserve at Auburn. Like a small van park run by the locals. Have fun.

Hi Colin we stayed for 3 days in Feb this year. Toilet, potable water tap,shade and sunny sites, room for heaps of vans, vandalised donation box, we saw no time limit on stay duration and a great place to stay..
