hell everyone, we r near rockhampton qld. We would like to c an opencut coal mine and tour if possible somewhere from rockhampton qld. South to nsw and victoria border . Any sggestions

I just googled 'Open cut mine guided tours Qld' & got a lot of suggestions .. Blackwater seemed good. Similar for NSW but didn't look closely at any.

Blackwater - don't think they do tours ont he weekends though - head out and have a look at Bedford weir

Sorry to be negative, but during the tour don't forget to ask them when they will fill in the hole they have made. The Hunter Valley NSW (and other areas) have been seriously damaged by many coal mines and they do not intend to fill the voids (holes). Most coal companies, which are usually foreign owned, pay little tax and do not even budget for this remedial work. Government rehabilitation bonds are for only a fraction of the cost. The cost of filling the voids will eventually fall to us taxpayers of this and following generations.
After the foreign miners have destroyed beautiful towns like Bulga we will pay in may ways.
Visit Bulga in the Hunter Valley and stay in their really nice free camp and have a chat to the locals.
