I am currently with Optus for home phone, mobile phone and internet, but my plan is very old and needs upgrading. I am planning on buying a tow vehicle and caravan and doing a fair bit of travel, so I am wondering what plan I should upgrade to. While travelling I will be using the Internet - email, some web-browsing, maybe downloading a few photography videos (my hobby).
While it will be a hassle, I am willing to change to Telstra if it will give me better coverage while travelling.
Or maybe I just stay with Optus, which is fine in Rockhampton, and follow the advice of Phil who wrote "pop into k-mart of woolies or whomever, and pick up the cheapest "blue-tick" handset that also has a port [ie: plug] that takes an external antenna. We have a $55 samsung that works a treat, and in really poor areas when we plug in the antenna, it goes from a scratchy 1-bar to 3 or 4 bars."
Thanks for any advice.

To give any advice we would need to know how much download you need a month and how much you use your mobile .

Raine is on a $70 a month plan that gives her unlimited stuff and 13 Gig internet. Telstra
but we also have a wifi plan 25 gig a month $105. Sounds a lot of data but Raine does a lot of video calls and I am a heavy internet user, but they work well most places

Sorry for the delayed reply.
I think my first decision is to stay with Optus or switch to Telstra. Is it accurate that Telstra has a much broader coverage across Australia than Optus?
