I know this has been covered before and this probably has too. Anyway at happy hour this afternoon, in Balranald, the subject came up
and someone said if your tank water tastes off put two litres of raspberry cordial in the tank let it sit for a while then flush it out. Not sure if it works but maybe someone else has heard this

Red Cordial? Maybe the bad taste bounces off the (tank) walls.
Sorry, I've got no idea really.

On our Winebago water tank . It says to add chlorine drive around block . M/T then add bicarbonate of soda . Leave for a while . I guess drive around the block ? M/T and fill with fresh water . I do this every spring using liquid pool chlorine . In my case 2 cups . Depending on size of tank . I run some treated water through system .. Then replace drinking filters .. Bicarbonate of soda takes the odour or bad tast out . But I use chlorine to treat whole system . Especially if it hasn't been used for a while ..

Old travellers trick, I used it whilst backpacking and it works well. Getting too sour in the mouth to enjoy the taste as much nowdays.

I always keep tanks empty when van not being used. Then add a squirt bottle of lemon juice from Coles b4 filling. 50 yrs, never had a bad tank (That I remember) yet.
Bicarb first would be the go if any tastes there.
Plus ALL water (from tanks) goes through a double filter system.
Changed every yr b4 getting to us.
