and cold mixer filters(under van) taken tap washer out of regulator , still no peresure . every thing works okay on 12volt pump,
but not on mains water .any advice would be great.

Have you tried a shorter hose. I have lower pressure due to a long hose.

It is the water regulator that needs to be replaced or
What type of Mains Water entry does it have, is it a normal water connection and if so it could have an "in-line non-return check valve" which could be blocked?.

But if the van has one of the Caravan Type Mains Water Inlets which are also a Pressure Limiting Valve. ie Shurflo Plastic Type they have a gauze filter at the inlet hole.?.
just ideas of what it could be. I have collected from others in a file possible reason why things may not work on the sterling and how to fix does come in use
these are from that file which may help you

not the techo type, but was told by a caravan repairer that the brass "bulb" like fitting on the van side of the mains inlet often stuffs up and needs replacing. I guess it can be cleaned out, but looking at it, looks reasonably simple to replace. I think this is the pressure limiting valve that Dave refers to

I think you live at Mildura. We have 2013 Sterling Outback and from past dealings you have a Jayco Dealer with an excellent reputation located right at your door. Pay the $,,ss and get it sorted.

We had the same problem with our Jayco. When I asked Jayco about the problem they advised me there had been a problem with dud pressure limiting valves (the brass thing under the van).I removed the valve and they replaced it free of charge. Dead easy to do.

Hi,, Big thank you to all who gave advice ,that brass regulator/ non return valve was the problem, removed brass thing drilled it out and replaced same, went to halls (jayco) was told a lot of caravan owners change brass regulator /non return for a non return valve ($25.00) have installed same , WORKS , Problem will be when turning on mains water, it is not to much pressure, ((that comes back to operator of tap )),
THANKS again MICKLE (mildura)

Not so. If your caravan taps are off, then the mains pressure is present all the time no matter the setting of the tap.
A regulator sets the pressure of the output side irrespective of the input side or tap setting.

Hello mickle
The advice from Weedpharma is correct
Without the pressure regulator valve working, (you have drilled through it), the caravan pressure will eventually equalise to the same pressure as the main water lines.
Having the main water tap less than fully open, will only delay the pressure build-up, it will not stop it
If Jayco have told you that a non return valve is suitable, then they must have guaranteed that the water fittings inside the caravan, are robust enough to accept the water pressure from ever main water outlet in Australia
It does make me wonder, why Jayco had not fitted a cheap non return valve when building the caravan, instead of a more expensive pressure regulator, as they could have made a bigger profit
