Thankyou for your reply. It helped me with what I was wanting to know. One thing now I am not sure about is the registration part. What happens if you will be touring a few states. Do you have to notify someone if you go from NSW to Qld and then to NT and then WA.

It actually is easier than is all sounds.
Registration seems to be automatic now as long as you are using the gear. If I am home and haven't used it for a couple of months, I need to re register. I do this on line or on my phone.

Thankyou Mike, that certainly does help. My husband and I have been thinking about a satellite dish for some time and we are getting so sick of watching videos when we are away. If you can do it online it is better still.

Hello margjohnb
We have the SatKing Vast from Access Antennas
The boss who is a bit of a telly addict, just leaves it on the WA setting
Most of the programs are the same in all states, but on at different times
I have never done it, but I assume that you can change the states from the internet, while on the run

Thankyou for all the replies. Another question is this, do I still just register for 1 state even though I may be travelling through 3 or 4 other states.

Hello margjohnb
Never done this but it looks easy enough, or perhaps others may give a clearer explanation, on how to do it
After you have registered and are travelling in another state
Click on Travellers Registration Renewal (3rd button down on right hand side), this brings up the Travellers Registration Renewal page
On the Travellers Registration Renewal page do not fill anything in Scroll down until you see Check the Eligibility section and when ready apply here for Household installations or here for Travellers. Click on Travellers this brings up the VAST Satellite Service Registration for Travellers Only page
Do not fill anything out on the VAST Satellite Service Registration for Travellers Only page Near the top of the page you will see 2. If you have travelled into a new state and wish to change over state services please send through an online enquiry here Click on here which will bring up the Enquiries page
The Enquiries page is the one you fill in, and then in the Enquires box, I would assume that you would say that you are registered in (previous state), and that you are now travelling in (new state) Then hit the Submit (lower left of page
Hope this info is helpful

There are a few regions and they have slightly different programmes. There is also the time zone matter. If you want the local news and programmes and want them to be received at the correct times when you need to re-register when you change zones. For more see Viewer Access Satellite Television

There you go learn something every day . The extender for remote . We've had to open the overhead cupboard for remote !! We'll get one ..
Can someone please tell me what you have to have beside the dish to view Free to Air TV anywhere in Australia.
Am looking at buying one as many places outback TV is unavailable. I am not interested in Pay TV
Thanks Margjohnb
Welcome margjohnb.
Type "vast tv" into the blue search bar above to find dome threads.
