Take a trip up the Daintree to Mossman around 1 or 2 am.
Di said the biggest that last trip was a good 15/18in between the eyes.
and it's head was around 4 ft from the inflatable we were in going back upriver to Mossman wharf from yacht.
It just slid down bank (all the others disappeared out of its way) slid smoothly across the water.
then sat still and rotated slowly round as we went past .
red eyes shining in torch.
That was a big mother.
Madam didn't stop shaking for a week.
And still hasn't forgiven me. Tony and I were loving it.
And I don't have a gun nowadays either.
You could walk across them during the night up there, if you game.
East .South Alligator in Territory the same.
We used to shoot them up there in early '70's.
a good 6 fter skin (7ft max.) brought around $1100 cash from dealers.
They didn't want the big ones. Too thick and brittle for bags and shoes.
Have a look at the size of this,!!! Don't think that is a Barra, somehow !!!!
K.J.
Wonder how old that pic is
Woody
