Has anyone stayed at Big4 Koala Shores Lemon Tree Passage, Port Stephens NSW, recently.
50% of the comments on Wikicamps are, don't stay it's terrible and the rest are it's very good, just looking for a nice break for a week at the end of August in the Port Stephens area.
I liked the look of Koala Shores as it has waterfront sites
Cheers
David.

You question prompted me to look at Wiki, David. Recent comments are good and pics look inviting so .
I tend to go by majority rules and pics when checking Wiki so that said, if was me, I would go there. Looks very nice indeed.

Foot note. Well on top of page anyway.
Don't come hunting me down if you go and don't like it. I will hide.

We havent been there for a while but it is one of my favourite parks. We now have a dog and although they recently became pet freindly, i will not pay the ridiculous fees to have him there. Happy to pay a few dollars but plenty of cheaper places to go.

My parents had an onsite van at the park in the 80's which we would visit often before they sold it. Park at the time was very rundown with some big issues. Over 20 years later we decided to give it another chance, so 18 months ago we booked an ensuite site in the row behind the waterfront sites. There were many changes, park has had many upgrades to the amenities over the years, all for the better and we thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay, so quiet and peaceful We also found all the staff to be friendly and extremely helpful.
I hope this helps you make your decision.tv

We stayed there last year on a travel auction. We got a site overlooking the water at the front which was great as the rest of the park looked a bit basic at the back so try for a waterfront site, they are a bit further from the amenities but worth it.

Finally decided not to go there to Koala Shores as the poor reviews probably reflect what the park is like overall
I rang to book a site and the price for the week was higher than the web online booking, queried this and they said they would ring back,on receiving a ring back, was told I was looking at the wrong area, waterfront sites not premium waterfront.
This was not the case, then said they would ring me back again, this didn't happen so decided I we would be better off going elsewhere as If they are not interested enough in making a sale, then that place is not for us, have always walked away from buying something if the service isn't first class as you can almost be sure that the follow up service will be even worse.
Probably will go to Nelsons Bay or another park close by will just turn up and have a look first before booking in for a week.
Having been looking on the web for alternatives parks to stay in and came across a good deal 40% off which must be booked and paid for in advance but if you failed to show up on the 1st booked day, your stay was cancelled and you lost your money, I was amazed at the arrogance of the management of this caravan park, business must be booming to get away with this sort of attitude.
