Make sure that you have burned all the galv stuff off, then wire brush it after it has cooled, before you start cooking on it
You are not supposed to breathe in Galvanised, or Cadmium fumes, so I assume that you are not suppose to eat it
It is still a good idea.
There are plenty of steel pegs lying around, as a lot of people are now using coach screws
I am not a camp fire cooking type person, otherwise I would make one for myself
I hope I can load a photo I saw recently.
It wouldn't take much to make one from various sized Tent pegs.
