Have just been north for 8 weeks and the place is full of Victorians I hope some one has told the last one to head north to turn off the lights when they leave.he he.on a more serious note, bought a set of milenco mirrors in Townsville on the way home to replace the rachet type truck mirrors I had ,after talking to quite a few towers with these mirrors, and how good are these mirrors very light weight and also very good adjustments and easy to fit well worth the money and wish I had bought them ealier as the other ones were starting to mark the door and window tint from rubbing when I put the window up and down .Also not problems when passing semi`s.If you are looking at replacement mirrors and don't want to spend a fortune have a look at these, and no im not on a commission .mike g

I am one of those Northern Southerners Mike.
Although the local natives told me this year that after being a visitor to Townsville for 11 years now, I have qualified for a part time banana bender job.
Still here in Townsville for a little longer as a little chilly down south still.
I have Clearview mirrors and would never leave home without 'em.
Keep Safe on the roads.

I bought a set and tried them on the otherday, instead of taking the lugs of the mirror I just pulled the bar out. Bad mistake as I forgot to tighten the scews up when I pulled the bar out. Luckly I only lost one of the hold down units but was still $20 to replace

We bought recently clear view mirrors and love them. Paid a lot but considering how much the van was and my confidence, am re assured. Whatever works for you is best. Cannot wait to get out of Melbourne for camping soon.

We always go away in Winter for 5 weeks, staying in Victoria. we mostly head up to where were currently are in the NW Mallee or Murray region. Cold nights but nice sunny days up to 21 degrees. Lovely, relaxing & quiet because most Victorians are participating in the ''QLD madness''.

Its because Collingwood will miss the AFL finals. Next best thing is escape.
When I built our tiny van I made the width just wide enough to not need extension mirrors. Our new van however will be 2 metres wide needing short extenders. 300mm between single beds I'd just a little tight ha!

I , on the other hand. Am a Queenslander visiting Victoria. Beautiful days , nights a bit chilly. Had to put the lecky blanky on. Hardly used it at all in Qld this winter. Still plenty of Victorians down here though. Traffic just about at a standstill on the way back from Traralgon this arvo

In our stint on GRR we recorded the home states of all visitors to Manning Gorge.......it was 59% Victorians for June, July and August.
I wouldnt think those figures would have changed much over the years

We are in Victoria this winter. My brother and wife headed north in mid June and will be back in a couple of weeks, enjoyed themselves but have hit a lot of wet weather. Our mother hasn't been too good lately and we decided that one of us should be close for her. Once my brother returns in early September we will be heading west, going to spend a few months touring the southern half of WA, hoping to see a lot of wildflowers.

Just back from North-West NSW (Bourke, Lightning Ridge, St George etc.). Have to book into most parks the day before. Traffic heading north very heavy. From St.George to Hebel (160kms) we estimated 75-80 vans going north. At least 8 in the carpark at the Hebel store at any time whilst we were there. Lightning Ridge park had a huge overflow area (unpowered and a bit of a walk to the loos) but it worked. As someone was pulling out (~10am), a van from the overflow took up the site before the van moving on was out of the park.
The most surprising part of our trip was the Pubs in the Scrub. It was brilliant. Second was going up to the lookout in Cobar to find it looked down into a quarry as well as across the entire countryside.

+1 for Milenco, very good!
So, how many times has Melbourne been voted the world's most liveable city? yep it does get a bit cold during winter but glorious easy weather the majority of the time (despite what people say) , like the well-attended sporting events in the state, Victorians are out there and doing it!!
