Has anyone travelled the road from Warwick through Killarney, Woodenbong, Kyogle to Casino? Can you tell us what the road was like and if it's ok to tow a 27ft caravan that way.
Your advice will be much appreciated please. Thank you

The road is pretty windey and floods a bit after rain if coming from Warwick i personally would prefer to go the coast road and turn off at Lismore and travel to Casino from there

Another way would be thru Stanthorpe Tenterfield then Bruxner Highway to Casino this road also wins round a bit and hilly but it is a much better choice than Killarney and Woodenbong.

The road from Legume to Woodenbong is very uneven due to the soil underneath shifting. This makes it very slow going. I do the trip via Tenterfield and the Bruxner Highway.

Hello Rodlainie and welcome. Yes it is OK to tow a 24 caravan down those roads.
Warwick though Kyogle to Casino is not one of the best roads in Australia and I would argue it should be better as it is very important logistically for transport needs. I have at times been over this road towing fully loaded trailers gross 42 tonnes and then inretirement with my caravan, main thing is slow down, drive to the condition and enjoy, it don't get any better but I love it. There is some unique scenery, beaut towns, takes some beating. Have a look at your camps book there is some special places to camp eg. Queen Mary Falls, Browns Falls, Tooloom Falls.
OK you could go down to Tenterfield then down via Tablum to Casino, has a lot more traffic, perhaps a little easier and miss out on the adventure of going down the way you first thought about going along the border. Both ways have there uniqueness! I prefer via kyogle but don't be sly of the other road if at sometime you need to go back over the range to get to your next holiday destination.
Hope this helps.

Up & back very recently, the road s progressively being upgraded, so the bits that need an upgrade need to be driven according to conditions, in other words slow down.
The other roads mentioned in the earlier posts are ok to good but the additional time taken plus fuel costs make the decision a no brainer....plenty of spots to free camp or make use of the low cost facilities along the way eg Woodenbong & Kyogle.
