Being new to this great site and it is a great site,I probably have no right to make this comment , but could it be made an even better site by bringing every post that's been replied to back to the front page ,that would save a lot of trolling back through pages Other Webb sites do this.
This is the best Webb site I have ever been involved with ,and as a new guy I hope this suggestion does not creat offence..
No what I mean is like the system on caravaners forum ..surely someone has been there?
anyway don't bother silly idea...

Good idea Ron - saves all that scrolling down to the bottom post whereas with your suggestion the new post goes on top of the previous post - oldest on bottom, newest on top. More efficient.
Good Luck

Good idea Ron. There is another caravan forum that does exactly that.
Much easier to surf the forum.

I know I will get shot at dawn but, If people put posts in the right sections of the forum things might be visible for much longer. Cindy has set up the forum for that but doesn't seem to work that way. IMO.

Actually CF tread is oldest first, newest last. What they have is a system that remembers the replies you have seen and when you again access the thread it takes you to the first unread reply (if you click on the appropriate symbol.)
I prefer to read down ie oldest first, just like reading a book.

Just changed my settings ,its probably the obvious thing to do but with my old brain the obviouse is not always obvious enough
thanks for your help on this Dorian
order of coments ticked as newest first
order of topics ticked as last modified
this seems to be working well...
I suppose putting this out here might be helpful to others as well as my self For setting things up.

I agree with PeterD - with the other way round, you may just read the first couple of comments - being the two latest - and bang in your own. The result is you repeat what has already been said or go further off the topic of the original post.
Most of us surely have enough time to at least quickly scan all the comments on a post before deciding to join in or not...........

I changed my setting but am going back to oldest first. Really weird reading answers without knowing what the question was LOL - still have scroll down to find it!

It's not an option to suit everyone, but it's nice to know it's there for some of us that do like to use it..
