We like to sleep with a fan on in the van, in any weather, just because we like the air circulation. All the fans I've tried (240V or 12V) are really noisy. Can anyone suggest a quiet fan with decent air circulation ability?

I have 2 of these in my motorhome and have had both on during the past few nights.
Find them very quiet and would not consider using any others.
I bought mine in Whitworths the marine chandlery as they sometimes have them on special prices.
Personally I think the fans are excellent, I have now used them for 4 years and never had a problem.
Keep cool, ).

Gday kit33r and welcome to the forum.
We have the Sirocco fans as well. NOW they are not cheap, however they win big time for these reasons.
At the lowest setting they push a fair bit of air around and are extra quiet. Also draw hardly any current which is a big win when free camping.
Even at the highest setting they blow a small gale and are much quieter than the other types.
We got ours from ebay as well, because we bought 2 the seller gave me a small discount.
Stay cool and travel safe.

Ever since I heard about Active Noise Cancellation (and saw it on a tech program on TV) I have been waiting for products (eg air conditioning systems) that use this technology. Where are they?
Another vote for the Sirroco fans - we have two - one is over the dinette, and the other one is near the bed, they swivel, so we can turn it to push air over the kitchen - I also put it on when I make toast, it stops the smoke alarm going off! We intend to get another one, as well - they have a timer - 2,4,6 or 8 hours as well, and three speeds, though we very rarely have it over first speed, which uses somethink like .04 of an amp in an hour!
Not cheap, but worth every bit of the money you will pay.

Sirroco fan here too. Its used in the teardrop and works really well. The price is not too bad when compared to the cheap noisy brands

Me too. Have had two of them and can't speak highly enough of them. Love the timer option. You don't have to get up in the night and turn it off if you get chilly.

We have sirrocos too, in the van we have two and in the camper two. The ones in the camper are wired in the two in the van plug into 12V outlets so we can move them around. Excellent fans.

Kit, just a suggestion for you to think about if you change your fans.
I put switches between the fuses and the fans and fitted them beside my bed, so if the temperature changes too low I can turn either one or both fans off without getting out of bed. ( my house batteries are under the bed so not much more work).
Unfortunately they have to be turned on at the fan.
I think you must agree the sirroco fans have lots of supporters.

The link should give you the details of the fans.
