I am guessing that someone may have blotted out the word "NO" on this sign.
But then again there are campers in the video.
Does anyone know if this is a fact or not?
If true, it will become the most popular free camp in Australia.
What do you think?

I have since found this, so just google free camping on the spit gold coast
Things no doubt have changed.
Have a look at the back packer's set up. Any wonder we Grey Nomads have issues with back packers and free camping.

You should take a few minutes to watch the follow on video about the proposed Cruise Terminal.
The Broadwater is a fantastic part of the Gold Coast. A shame to see it put at risk.
Lots of motor homes there that may be just day trippers but a few with tents seem to be set up for longer stays. Not an area where I would be comfortable staying overnight. Lots of hoons & undesirables around after hours I would think.
Magic during the day though.
My Sister lives nearby at Paradise Point & we often have a picnic on the foreshore at the end of her street, enjoying the view out to Wavebreak Is., South Straddie & The Spit. Great for my kayak too when the wind abates (I just slip into a canal if it's too windy .. try not to fall off into the jaws of the resident bull sharks). Good fishing off the beach for small whiting, flathead & the like.
Clive Palmer loves it. His family have a few mansions on nearby Sovereign Is.

Not a free camp site. Has not been for many years. The people that do camp their have no facilities at all. Human waste all over the place etc. The Gold Coast Council are about to upgrade the area so that it is impossible to camp their. In fact it will be hard to get onto the spit at all as I believe that it is to be a private development (not sure on this though). So the ........ who camp their will muck it up for the rest of us simply because they have decided that the laws do not apply to them.

Well some say it is and say it's not, part of the area where the clip was taken is completely closed off for the time being. The council are putting up bollards on both sides of a new road that are putting in. Around beside the sea way, there are couple of camper staying there. I have been told that the area is part of the Maritime Board and nothing to do with the G.C.Council and the council can not touch you. Cheers reg

Since that video was posted the council has really cracked down and rightly so.
