People whinga about them "Binding" and hard to disconnect.
I had one of his first 3.5ton, direct from Factory Posted to home.
b4 he started advertisng
and a smaller unit for this van 2.5ton.
Main differences were 3.5ton is fabricated.
IE Can be welded/Bolted to chassis rails.
2.5 ton Cast, and not such a good idea.
Adjust bolt and locknut for ball in cup.
ONLY use a 3.5ton "extended shank" ball.
as in 1\2 to 1 in BASE on ball b4 thread starts.
So to not rub and maybe flick off in extreme wrongly set up situations.
ALSO. When you park. the cup interior (on mine anyway.)
had a slight internal "lip" cast into it.
Locking onto ball, and used to be a prick to release.
UNLESS you stopped. locked van brake/wheels.
then released tug brakes to let it roll back/forwards slightly.
Removing load from hitch.
and aligning ball to lift drawbar away from it.
Until I found that i'd sometimes be standing on drawbar
and bouncing on rear of car to bounce it out. Grrrrr.
Those things are 360 deg rotation both planes.
Apart from area the caravan in way of.
Lot's copied him afterwards.
But his still simple. reliable and decent price.

Haven't had a spot of bother with mine (3.5t) great to couple if you rotate the cup back a little at he right height it drops on by itself, I have been told by Jayco to bring mine in for a free replacement one with heavier construction unit under warranty. If you lift the release lever first then wind up the jockey wheel it should pop straight out unless it is damaged somehow.
The adjustment should be set from the factory.
Hyland Hitch problems.
