Just foned Crusader caravans about changing the atm on my caravan as it is only 2820kg took it over the local weigh bridge ,empty water tank, no food or clothes ,It came to 2715kg .As you can tell not much extra for the essentials .So i had changed up to atm 3200kg ,the same as the axle group rating .It was as easy as a fone call ,i do not know why they did not do it from the factory . What are your thoughts .JOHN.

You will also need to advise Qld Transport so they can alter their records.

this has been well discussed in the past with various ideas put forward as to why the manufacturers do what they do with allowing little weight variance when it rolls off the sales yard.
We did the same thing with our 'van - no arguments and we got a new VIN plate the same week. But in WA, you have to get it pit inspected and road tested, and a weight docket. Costs around $280.00. You cant take the old VIN plate off - they screw the new plate above it. The requirements vary from State to State, so it pays to contact your state Transport Dept
