Where packing the van an hour ago. We placed our box of medication in the cabinet between the club lounge and bed. Heaps of space to spare. Closed the cabinet door. Fine. push the button to open again. Will not open, Lambie is still out there. Its got my heart meds inside plus lambies meds.
We are going to film the bloody thing soon, with Jemmy bar and if does not open. I will call Jayco's Roadside assist first. Before I use a small Jemmy bar on the bloody door. We are still in our cave, not on the road yet.
Can anyone give us any suggestions Please.

Oh dear!! Maybe call Bill Shorten and he can call the Unions and they can call Jayco, this should be a simple solution I think.
Maybe with such serious medications you should just stay at home. It could be cheaper for Medicare!!

If it's a case of emergency getting your pills Jim, ring the S.E.S. that is if you don't have any luck with Jayco .

Hi all,
The cabinet door is still closed. We have been down to Chemist warehouse tonight and they have fixed us up with repeats, after putting our GP on the line to ok our meds.
I am parking our van across gossip street entrance in the morning and they can call who ever they like till its fixed. biggest load of lemon ever built.
As for others here who wish to make a joke of my wife and I health.

Happy Travels to all.

This is serious Jim. I am a cabinet maker by trade and if we had problems like that we formed a fist and with the outside soft part of fist would give the catch a couple of not to hard bangs. It would loosen the catch parts and door opens. catches are all cheap catches anyeay. Might be worth a go. Sometimes it doesn't work. I have one in my van that is the same and so far that works. I don't put much in it anyway. I don't think anyone thinks it's funny Jim just seeing a lighter side to a mongrel situation. I was going to say a 'sticky" situation but didn't :)

Hey Jim and Lambie glad you got your meds sorted out we are all getting to that age that we need some kind of medication for those who don' t good on ya. Don't move until they fix it. I used to work for a car dealership and one guy had a lemon bought from us he got no joy from the dealer with all the problems he had with it so one day he parked on the main road across form the dealer with the biggest cardboard lemon (lol) i had ever seen well I tell you his problems soon went away as the dealer sorted everything out. So don't give in. Good luck.
We had the same thing with a cupboard handle would not open so the only way to get the handle off and open the cupboard was to break the bloody thing and of course out of warranty so had to buy a new one at $60 thank you very much.

A while ago we met a couple with a large Jayco heritage van. Every handle on every cupboard & overhead locker had broken off.

I assume the hinges are internal ? If the hinge screws can be reached ? Just unscrew hinge . Yes the locks are cheap . Try pulling door down or away just in case catch isn't clearing latch . ? Things you learn in travels !! Like TV remote location with fold up bed . Oh the dramah !! lol

Mine has been jammed before, I found that if I put a knife blade between the top of the door and the body and lever the door down a bit the lock would operate properly. I ended up getting new hinges and and lock as van was out of warranty.

Hi JIM, If the locks are a round push button type, with finger and thumb push on the button and turn anti clockwise at the same time. Usually works for us.

We have a lemon caravan, but luckily we 1) don't have locks on drawers or cupboards and 2) they shut on the long metal pin into a nylon receiver so they cant jam (I hope!). When I was over in Melbourne and took it to the manufacturer for another round of warranty repairs, I scored spare drawer/cupboard latches, the plastic clips that hold the Dometic window covers shut and a few other things that they also reckon would break/wear out. Now I have a large bag of bits and pieces which I haven't yet had to use.
Jim - good to hear you didn't have a fatal heart attack - I would have had to claim against your estate for the promised red and fish n chips lol.
Our main lot of meds are kept in the 'van when we travel, but we also carry about a weeks supply (small pills) in our ute as a back-up

For future reference, not much use for Lambie, there has been a bit of talk on Jayco Owners forums about this problem.
For prevention ALL cupboard locks are to be taken apart, there is a screw on pin that is to activate the lock inside. This pin is often loose, needs to have a drop of locktite applied & screwed tight. No more problem.
Cheers Neil
