the rattle noise doesn't bother me as I cant hear it when I'm driving. You only notice it if someone drives my rig beside me or youre in a CP or camp site and hear all the noise coming from between the two vehicle. The worst noise are the WDH's that creak loudly. When I put mine on, I spray them with silicone and no noise until I disconnect and re-hook them up again.

That does seem like a simple little useful jig!

Yeah not bad, I have one, but if you tighten the nuts too much the thread strips as the u bolt is not high tensile. I replaced the u bolt with a high tensile one and can really nip it up.
Cheers Owen.

bfirth, yes I saw that item when I started looking at a method to attach my stone guard mount (see further down the techies corner). However that would lower the bar too much & my mud flaps would be doing the road sweeping for the councils!

I ordered mine yesterday. $39 inc post.
Will use the high tensile U bolt as suggested.
Cheers

The only time a hitch rattles is when there is no trailer connected.
When not towing I remove my hitch, no rattle no cost AND no barked shins. Win win win!
