Can anyone recommend a lightweight caravan around 20ft that can be towed by a Toyota Kluger with 2000kg towing capacity. Would prefer ensuite. I can spend approximately $50K.

Have a look at Baileys, the Pursuit is 1520 and around 50000. It's only 17' but they do have larger ones with 1820 but it's not leaving much room if you have only 2000

Lisa we are looking at vans now an after a van that has a light Tare weight of around the 2600 kg in a 19' and doing that is real hard but the only van that I know of that is around the 2000kg and it's an 18' is the sports cruiser.

Have a look at Jurgens. They have several models that may suit you all with ensuites. They are Wallaroo 1200 tare, Sungazer 1240 tare, Jundabyne 1300 tare, Skygazer 1500 tare and Lunagazer 1750 tare.
We have a Lunagazer with Atm 2200 and tare 1780. Van is 4 years old and are very satisfied with quality of build and how well it tows.

Be careful with that Kluger,
One of my Granddaughters has one.
I'd hate to tow with it
Going by hers they pretty gutless. 2 ton behind it,
it'd near die in arse with headwinds or hills I reckon.
If you don't need a fancy new van. Some Aust made vans come in light too
Coromal do a real nice lightweight van or two.
I got an 18ft. singles, Tandem. max weight 1.7 ton.
For bitumin and dams (Fishing) it'll be fine. It's been around Aust coupla times already.
Nicely weathered AND proven.
Market value $19.800. I paid $12k.
Has a bed.Kitchen. Dining. Portaloo with ext shower and HWS.
Aircond etc.
Gives a LOT of spare pennies for any trips and don't matter if it stands for a coupla yrs
Does exactly the same as my Prev 6.5mtr and that cost $67k back in 2000.
All you doing when buying a new van (I've had a couple or three).
Is supplying somebody elses second hand bargain,
New. or 20 yr old. Does same job.
Pity a few more don't realise it.

Thanks everyone. I really like the Bailey branded caravan and we could tow with it. We looked at a few others on the weekend but weren't impressed. The kluger is a dream to tow with. I tow our 21 foot 2 tonne bayliner and its a dream. Hubby has a new V8 redline wagon and the kluger tows the boat better. We were considering buying a landcruiser, we had the 100 series before the Kluger but id prefer to go a lighter van. Its not fun all this van searching. Cant wait to just get one and get on the road.

Hi Lisa , we have a 26' Bailey that we tow easily with our diesel Territory , it's a 2008 , full ensuite etc , weighs around 1500kg
Tows like a dream in normal conditions , and is super comfortable .....paid $36,000 a couple of years ago for it, also has 5m Fiama awning and a full size annexe for the opposite side , central heating......the list goes on :)
