We are off in a few more weeks. Lambie and I need a Telstra plan, to cover both Mobile phones I have an S5 and Lambies S4 and two I pads + one lap top.
We went to the Telstra shop on Tuesday to make an enquiry as to what is best for us. We need data. The young bloke we were speaking to, spoke at speed = Double Dutch. Two plans @$40 per month, Without a contract.
One each, would be plenty for the two of us as we can share the Data. We have not done anything as yet. He says our phones will be used to talk to our Ipads like a phone call. Like what we have fixed in our home. With Tpg unlimited. We have to keep this as our Daughter lives with us at home.
Can we get some of the Experts advice. On both $ + value wise. We are both off contract with Vodafone. He needed both account numbers to port our numbers across, which we have.
In the past We were buying $50 Pre Pay cards, which lasted zero time. (as our above phones were locked to Voda Don't.) And did not work in the bush. We used a T96 phone with a patch + attana + Pole while base over Exmouth way. Thanks again.

Hi J & M, if you want the best coverage in marginal signal areas it seems Telstra is your best option. However you certainly pay for the privilege. We started off with Telstra prepaid and as you said it seemed to not last long. We have a Telstra bundle at home and are happy with that arrangement.
Our solution for our motorhome was to go post paid with Virgin that uses the Optus network. We have two iPhones each on a $20 plan with 200mins/month and 1Gb of data. Unused time can be rolled over to the next month. Virgin offer free voicemail that is a real bonus for us. I suspect that a lot of our usage on Telstra prepaid was used checking and receiving voicemail. We also have a 4g wireless modem on a 12gb plan at $35/month to use with our iPads & laptop. I purchased a 4g capable antenna from an electronics store that hooks into the modem. It is meant to assist with a signal strength in marginal areas. We have had this arrangement for 18 months and it suits our needs perfectly. We have used this arrangement from Cooktown in the north to Ceduna in the west and yes there are some no signal areas but nothing that caused us any inconvienence

Jim we have just renewed our plan with Telstra and what we have found the best deals are over the the phone to there call centers, not the Telstra shop, that's been our experience over the years...

Go to the "Aldi Mobile" site and have a look. You are best buying a $5-00 card at any store and you get it back of any scheme.
I was with telstra on PAYG for a year and Aldi is cheaper on the same scheme and say a $30-00 payment istays intact for a full year.
I am with Aldi and they have a system where you can go on PAYG (pay as you go) or Added on Schemes. I am on PAYG and my wife is on a $20-00 plan. Her calls and texts are cheaper. You can go to higher data if you need it ad increments of $10-00
I have to agree that telstra is the best system an Aldi is with Telstra.
If you can stomach the bad press that Kogan phone and TPG put out you will find they are Vodafone. I know people with these companies and they are getting out.
I researched the matter for a few weeks and settled on Aldi. I reckon I won't know how good it is till we get out and use it. My wife has a phone and I activated a Samsung 8 inch tablet.
The thing with Aldi is they do not have a desk. If you have a problem it is all on line, and or a telephone call if it can't be fixed. I had a problem as I am not smart with computers ,but i am happy with the two calls I had to make and that the problems were fixed.
My problems were nil with the Tablet but initiating a new phone for my wife..... Next time I am grabbing the first 12 year old kid and tie him in front of my computer.
No allegiances by me either...

Mainly leave lappie at home now.
Plus 2 x Samsung J1's on Prepaid.
Plus 200 gig home broadband. and T.Box for recordings.
Use Phones as hotspots for Tablet. or Macca's, Hospitals, airports,
cafe's etc if want to use net.
Just log into home passwoord.
the 2 phones on Telstra Prepaid.
one $30 pm.
gives me $700 plus $650 bonus of calls,
with 1.5gig of data.
Often adds another 1.5 as a bonus too.
Di's is $30 per 2 months and you pay for all calls.
At 15 CENTS a minute. anywhere in world...
Also.
I transfer my $30 cash pm over to her at 10bucks Max.. a pop.
She has around $320 credit at present.
With Telstra's quality of line service, have yet to see better.
I never used any of the data . would rather phone.
and with Telstra service, it's worth the extra monthly.
When we go O'Seas.
We just buy local sims at wherever.
That's Cheapest way to go.
