I was researching aluminium vs maranti frames on-line and came across a lot of positive posts about composite frames. But no one really described what exactly a composite frame is, and which models of caravans one should consider if they are looking for a quality van with a composite frame. And in particular a quality semi-offroad or offroad caravan with a composite frame.

This company makes fibreglass sandwich panel and supplies it to several quality van manufacturers.
Light, strong, tough, no leaks, excellent insulation.
The panel is extraordinarily strong and there is no frame.
I built the body of our OKA camper from it 12 years ago and can not recommend it too highly.

resurrecting this old thread.
The ones I have found are Jurgens, Avida & Jayco(in their TL) in the mid range price. I am aware of others i.e. Zone, but they are well over +$100k. Are their any others in the mid range price?

If I was buying a van this composite construction seems ideal. My older Winnebago(Avida now) motor home had an earlier type of composite body and was excellent. The latest type would be ideal IMHO from what I have seen at shows etc.
Compared to 'tin' tacked on to a wooden frame, similar to the 1960s construction, it would be no contest for me. My current metal bus body suffers from the insulation problems but the strength is OK. However a bigger squarer box in composite would be better. Hmm....
