We are currently on the road having fun, well until our hot water system decided to call it quits. We have hot water but absolutely no pressure. When we turn on the tap the hot water starts flowing then turns into a dribble within seconds. Is there anyone who can offer a pair of newbies some advice and also on how to turn the hot water system off if need be.
We have a 2013 Coromal Element.
Any ideas much appreciated.

Sounds like a almost completely blocked pipe between the pump preasure line into the heater and the tap probably at a fitting or joiner , , is there a filter somewhere this could be the blockage point
Is the cold water still flowing as usual ?

Hi. Its a real pain when this happens. I'm having problems with my Swift brand h/w heater smoking, but fortunately it has an Australian importer you can contact direct and they are extremely helpful. Phoned them on Monday about it (unit is out of its Dealer 12 mnth warranty) and they posted me all the parts to completely refurbish the unit (other than the tank) and told me to take it to any van repairer to get it fixed and they will pay the repairers bill.
The Truma site doesn't obviously show who or how to contact the importer, but the attached link gives you all the contact companies throughout the country who service their h/w units. Perhaps give a couple a phone call and ask them if you can fix the problem yourself and how

Do you still hear the pump running when the water flow slows down?

Batteries good ? Try some acid flush through system ? Has it been filled with high calcium water ?

Greetings from WA.
I have a Truma 14 ltr, 240 volt only hot water heater.
The instructions that came with the unit state, that the unit needs to be "primed" every time you connect a new water supply.
It's a simple task. Connect the water, then run the tap - hot then cold; until the system stops "spitting"
This unit also has a bleed valve which will do the same job, but if the unit is not easily running the tap is easy.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Hetho.

I doubt the problem is with the HWS itself.
Maybe a blockage somewhere in the cold feed pipe. I would remove and check the non return valve.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi, I had much the same sort of problem. The cause of mine was the hot water mixer valve. Don't know if they are all the same but when I pulled mine apart I could adjust the volume of hot water.
Cheers Len

Hi treckie. I have the same van and recently had a water leak inside the van . Turned out it was the pressure reducing regulator leaking . You can find this under the bed alongside the h/w tank it's a blue regulator . It could be related to your problems I replaced ours for $60 . Purchased it from caravan accessories outlet Good luck

Check also if your van has a Hot Water Tempering Valve fitted as they have S/Steel Filter screens fitted in the ports which can Block with particles from the system restricting flow. Cheers Kev.

Thank you everyone for suggestions. We are home now, so will have a look and see what we can come up with. At least we have some ideas now.
