I'm travelling by caravan from Dandenong Victoria through Merimbula on to Nelson Bay. I normally take the Hume but chose the Merimbula route for a change, I need pet friendly caravan parks along the way and usually travel 250kms in a day, I'm looking for nice locations near the water, lovely friendly towns/caravan parks where we can stay o/night any suggestions greatly welcomed don't forget I have a dog so neen pet friendly locations

Welcome to the gang amedeo, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I don't like to suggest places to stay on the forum as everyone has different ideas of wants and needs. What I will say is, if you haven't already, get yourself a copy of Camps Australia Wide, there is also Caravan Parks Australia Wide and a copy of Wikicamps for your poota. I use Camps/Caravans to find a place then check Wiki for comments and pics etc. Wiki is updated by us the user so reasonably up to date. Make sure you read most comments though and make up your own mind. Works for me.
There are heaps of caravan parks and some free/alternative camps along the way you talk about.
Don't forget show grounds either.
Keep Safe on the roads.
