have found that the window catches that hold the frame and glass tightly closed ( little sliding things ) are not catching the window anymore replaced the winders a while back work fine but just dont want to pull the window frame that last tiny bit
fine if there are two people one pushing from outside and one inside but as i will be alone when using it not good
thinking the solution might be some small catches bolts on the outside but would not look good ? any comments
I find that over the yrs "some" of the window frames gets a slight "curve/bend/swist" in it.
hence to lack of latching.
I just "carefully eased/flexed the bottom of window frame back in line again, several times. GENTLY.
and it cured it.
Otherwise think about adding a few layers of tape to outside edge of swinging window at bad end.
so it catches when you push it in.
Wind window in. Nip outside and push nip inside and latch. Push window side out first
Then wind.
Either way works.
Otherwise. New frame.......

David Hi, New catches are available from most caravan part's shops. You will need a drill & pop/blind riveter. The secret to re-riveting them is to feed a small nut/spacer over the shaft of the rivet so as to grip correctly. As can be seen in Your photo the head of the rivet is recessed.

Might be a buildup of dirt/crud?? Try winding the window all the way out and give the whole lot a good scrub, a touch of silicon spray on the hinge, and wipe the rubber seals with silicon spray. See if that helps. Cheers, Brownie

Gooday,
Think you may find that the little angle pieces at the 90 degree corners in the window frames have broken. We have Camec widows and this was the problem, the original ones in ours were plastic, snapped and let the frame go out of shape even though it was not noticeable, took the window out and replaced them with cast metal ons=es from Caravans Plus. Have had to do it on about 3 of ours.
Cheers,

had a similar problem as described by Bliss... busted the window trying to close it as it sagged about 1mm and dragged on the lower edge of the frame. New corners were 50cents each (plastic... didnt know I could get aluminium). Somewhere here or elsewhere I read about these window catches being a bit hit and miss, if the catch is 1 or 2 millimeters out or the slot it locks into a millimetre too long then the flat section of the blade wont engage the window frame and at the end of the days driving the window will have come undone, as mine does. The answer is to relocate the catch a milimetre or two to the left (or right) to ensure that when it is fully closed the flat section of the catch balde is holding the frame and not the angle cut section. Apparently a small move as described will not be visible as the catch will still cover the original holes.
another day another problem ,
