Hi just bought 16 Foot Jayco and wanting to insure. Does anyone have any ideas or advice who to pick etc???? Thank you :):)

So as not to repeat lots of what has been said before may I suggest that you click on Search above and then type Caravan Insurance. There was quite a bit of discussion on it in April, 2016 that you can read then ask again for more information if you need it. Hope you are very happy with your purchase. Cheers and welcome.

Take her advice and go to the top of this page and type in Insurance or Caravan Insurance (the search function is a bit pedantic and needs to be word perfect lol) but you will get to read lots of great comment on the various companies who specialize in 'van insurance and don't exclude the heaps that your house and car insurer does.
Best advice, short-list the companies to 2-3 and read their PDF (product disclosure form) very carefully. They are required to be in simple and understandable language and you can then make an informed choice based on what they offer, their exclusions and their premiums

we find them one of the better ones and they pay no problem.
After Marcia they came here. went right through house and outside. finding $15 grands worth we didn't even see.
Had it all replaced and painted within a month.
Same with Caravan coupla yrs ago.
Insurance write off. not even on road. they paid out on the valuation Premium We'd been paying
After I rang them about it.
$7 grand more than their valuers quote??.
You tell me.
We have everything with them.

Gday Buckethead (not bookay head lol) and welcome, we insure with CIL, never had an issue and they are easy to deal with. Bit dearer than the others but solid gold IMHO.

Went with CIL. Main reason was if I was injured or sick or the tow vehicle was not drivable CIL gets your van back home to the value of $5000. Peace of mind.

At 16' (up to 6.7 meters) if you take out Gold cover (Total Care) roadside service with your local Auto Club (RACQ, RACV, RAA, NRMA, etc) you get van towing etc included and most also have a Tow Pack option for larger sized vans and motorhomes or those on basic roadside service for an extra $60 - $70.
On the insurance side, multiple policy discounts are usually on offer from Auto Clubs along with years of membership discounts and extremely low excesses make them hard to beat.
