A question for all of you who have Wikicamps on your devices......... I know you pay a small amount for the App but can you then load it onto multiple devices or do you pay a fee for each device ?
I was thinking I would put it on my laptop to browse at home and also on my phone for quick access when travelling. Would I pay once or twice ?

I paid twice Pam. It's such a great App I had no problem with the small cost.
Enjoy Wiki but make sure you add comments etc as you go. It's only as good as we make it.

Things may have different now but when we got the Wiki app could only load it onto Iphone or Ipad , We could not download onto our laptop .

you can have it on multiple devices providing they are using the same platform e.g. android
download the app for the free trial and it will explain to you what platforms are available..
If it used on the one platform it is a once only cost. I use it on 2 phones and notebook...1 cost.

I paid twice. Once for my IPad which I use while working out where to stop next (bigger pictures) and the other for my IPhone which I use for directions to get me there whilst driving. Well worth the money!!

Allow yourself plenty of time to "play" and set up wiki properly. If you rush it you will not set up the various fields (like which State? - select all of them). I spent in total about half a day over several days getting all the settings correctly so it showed all the various features that make it such a great aid.
Also be careful as all the locations of things, like CP's, free camps, dump points etc are there compliments of other users as Dougwe points out.
If there is a free camp, for example, showing in the area you are interested in, but with no comments or pics, theres a good chance it doesn't exist. Some users who aren't too good with IT type stuff will enter the wrong co-ordinates and create a free camp or whatever when one doesn't exist.
A good example is a dump point in Batemans Bay, NSW. One showed in a National Park, which would be the only one in the country probably. Anyway it had a good view point of the Bay so we drove there and of course there was no dump point. The interesting thing was someone had set it up with the wrong co-ordinates and then about 3 people had subsequently commented about how clean it was lol. In fact its run by the Bateman Shire and down near the foreshore on a sewer line - about 45 mins drive from the National Park!

Shut the front gate! Bryan you must have been goods mates with bill before he went to the iSky afterworld as I had both as well but had to pay twice then when I changed the iPhone to Galaxy I had to buy it again. I have no problem with that though as it is cheap for what it is and does.

Pam - yep - it shows all CPs (caravan parks) that other wikicamps have used. That does not mean that 100% of all parks are on there - wiki users may have been to a particular park, but not bothered to list it.
Likewise, if you find a CP and intend to drive to it, phone the number listed for it and make sure it exists (or if you have WIFI go on-line and see if they have a web-site - most CPs do). We nearly went to one on the southern coast of NSW but decided to phone 1st and make sure they had any spare sites. Phone number didn't "exist". Only one entry from a wiki user who had given all the details only about 2 mnths earlier. Just remember that anyone at all can afford the $8 to buy a subscription and just once in a while, they may put bogus info on it. We're assuming that was the case with this NSW CP...

Pam - be aware that it only runs on Windows 10.
I have it on an iPad which we used all around Oz and would have to pay another $9 if i downloaded it onto my laptop. Often found more sites to use than our travelling buddies who had Camps Aust..

I'm not quite sure about this Doug because I'm not computer friendly, I keep messing things up and getting youngsters to fix them again but I think I may have downloaded to iCloud. Like everything else involving computers, I press the button and hope for the best.

I have it on my laptop (Windows 8.1), iPhone and Samsung Galaxy tablet - you only have to pay once for each platform (Windows, IOS and Android) even if you have it running on more than one device of a particular platform.

Yeh I had the iPhone and iPad at the time but didn't download to the "cloud". I might be a bit strange (I heard that down the back) but don't like that cloud thingy.
As said before, I was more than happy to pay the meezly amount for each copy so all good.
PS, if I remember correctly I did use the cloud for a very short time but it played up with my emails and they are very important to me so cleared out real quick.

Bit of a dilemma Al. I have WIKI and Hema Explorer on the iPad but not on the Android. All our stuff are Apple / Mac products and I'm more comfortable using them but my research tells me that the Android with true GPS is better for street to street navigation. I tend to agree as I had both working with Route 66 Navigation driving up to Perth on Thursday evening and back again. They both do the job but without a sim card the iPad does not show any details but the road you're on when out of wifi range.
Although the Android can do lots of things if married properly to the car, (It's too confusing for me), I'll just use it for street navigation, its more up to date than the car's system. Next problem is where and how to mount it in the car without interfering with anything else.

You have to pay one for each different platform e.g. Android, Microsoft, IOS etc - if you have an iPhone and an iPad, using the same Apple Id, then you only pay once. I have it on 2 apple devices, but if I want it on my PC, I need to pay for that as well.
Mind you, we are talking peanuts not mega dollars, and it will repay the invstment many times over, fantastic app - we basically plan and move around by it. The free wiki petrol app will pay for the cost in one go by guiding you to the cheapest fuel in town.

When you have made your option of accessing the parks you will find a link "Click Here for Map" The map has red and green pins for the parks, the green ones are the dog friendly.
