We travel in a Prado which of course has the car radio aerial in the back side window. We are experiencing noise interference when listening to AM radio when the Waeco fridge turns on. Has anyone had this problem and how did you solve it. Thanks

Yep, AM radio can cause all sorts of little problems including noises. I hate noises in a car, very annoying indeed. Have you tried putting the Waeco on the other side in the back as if on the same side as the aerial it might be too close, just that little bit apart might make the difference. Just a thought Rockster.

Have same problem when the AM signal is weak.
When there is a strong signal I don't get any interference.

Yes Dougwe it is a lot better on the other side but with van attached it is too difficult to access as the back door can't be fully opened

You may try one or 2 of these Ferite suppressor sleeves on the 12V power cord fitted close to the fridge. They are available from Jaycar in a pack of 4 LF-1292.
Theres 2 types of Danfoss compressor controlers on Waeco fridges. The 101N0220 should have an aluminium shield on it to supress interference. The 101N0500 is not shielded & has a 240V AC powersupply built in it.
