If you are travelling towards or coming through Pt Augusta , do not pay their prices for fuel , if you can fill up at the servo near Pt Pirie ,you will save yourself 10 Cents a litre for diesel .Why is it that a major town like Pt Augusta can justify these prices .Even Kyancutta was only $1.14.9 Cents a litre.I got caught ,but it won't happen again. Cheers Roy.

I feel your pain Roy. We do a lot of travel these days in regional SA and whilst you rarely if ever see city prices in country towns, you rarely see the insane yo-yoing of the city cycles either. Around Mt.Gambier for instance, diesel has been pretty well unchanged for months at about $1.12 and ULP at about $1.10.
All of us want to see cheaper fuel prices especially when you consider the price of crude, but last week in Melbourne on Monday, ULP shot up to $1.28. So go figure.

Welcome to living outside of the capital cities. We just pay the price & move on.

Pt Augusta always seems to have expensive fuel. We always fill up before hitting town and filling up on the other side (either side of the town - it doesn't seem to matter). We've been through Augusta 2-3 times now and fuel has always been 10-20c dearer than elsewhere.
Guess the CPs there got the idea for their prices from the premium fuel prices as well.........

Re Pt Pirie, Is that the servo B4 the southern turnoff to Pirie? Or the Servo near the main road CP near the northern turnoff?
Thanks
Peter

I guess it's the centre of three roads . LPG is very expensive in servo's there too .

This was in the south east corner Queensland
A servo at Colington, on the Dagullar Highway about 170 KLMS to the west of Brisbane heading towards the township of Kingaroy.
About 10 days ago I filled up with unleaded petrol at $1.04.9. The cruiser took 83 litres in the main and reserve tanks.
Now when we arrived home to Brisbane the prices everywhere were $1.29.9 .
We had A saving of around $20.
I believe that Coles and Woolworths set the price, so you can see how much they are ripping us off.
This servo is the only retail outlet in Colington. Out in the bush, but they can sell at this low price.
So from that one can see just how much the other Servo's are ripping us off.
And no Polly, has the b#$%s to do something about it,
Maybe because the Gov. is getting more tax dollars on $1.30 v $1.05.
