The good lady would like to know if anyone out there is using their thermomix when they are free camping, also what size inverter they are using and how much battery power and solar they have.We have 480 watts of solar,360 amps battery, obvious we would only use very sparingly on bright days etc.
Thanks for any replys

Did you read about the Thermomix burning quite a few people, Trevor? Apparently the lid can pops off under heated preasure. It is in the ABC news today. Might be worth a read.

From memory the thermomix is about 2000W. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I would use 3000W inverter but it will suck your battery dry (about 100amps at full power). Maybe a nice generator would solve a few problems.
Take care and enjoy

How would you get the generator into the thermomix, Phil ??

Thank you everyone for the replies , we live in our van full time and purchased this thermomix a couple of years ago it's a great appliance , the good lady loves to use it and cooks some great food , We are now able to do more free camping so just thought we would ask the question on here if anyone has used one on an inverter it has nothing to do with if we can live without it or not. I am now thinking twice about asking questions on here as like I say it has nothing to do with living without it .

You are probably correct old col, my knowledge of inverters and any other recent technology is limited. Thanks for the correction. SOC on these AGMs is always a concern I try to keep them happy and above 12.7 volts, I want them to last a while longer.
Cheers

Trevor, the problem with open forums like this is that some folks forget their manners and can be robust with their comments. I have been the victim of these types of comments, but please don't let that stop you from posting.
We live in our van full time as well and free camp as much as we can, our inverter can just power the coffee machine on a sunny day, so I choose the genny for the higher wattage machines.
Take care and enjoy the outdoors and this forum.

Phil - I always enjoy your posts - theyre always helpful/funny/joking/informative.
Like you, most of us "longer serving" GN members have also been the victim of unpleasant, unhelpful and just downright rude comments. Also like you, I just read, confirm what I think of them, and move on to read other positive and pleasant peoples posts.
Look forward to catching up with you some day and trying out your coffee from your (apparently several) coffee machines :)

Whether you could do without a Thermomix is totally irrelevant Mr Brickies. If you can't post without put-downs don't post at all. You are a notorious offender in this area and, whilst you are not on your own, the fact that some good people have left this forum is testimony to the attitude of people like you. If you can't be constructive then shut up.
I have long felt that something should be said with regard to this subject so, sling as much s--t as you like at me but treat others with respect.

Well said Magnarc it is about time that people realize the comments they make have nothing constructive toward the topic so like you say they should shut up. This forum is for people who are like minded. I was always told if you can't contribute then say nothing . Some people need to put their manners in check. Like you sling as much s---t as you like I have decided why should I miss out on a great site just because the last few questions I have been shot down by the trolls of this site so bring it on.

Well really, Trevor, there was no need for me to comment as I have no opinion on the Thermomix but I do have a position on people that try to bully others.
Brickies made a comment about not needing a Thermomix on the road and your man Magnarc has decided to take him to task and use his comments as an excuse to insult him. You have followed up with a similar diatribe.
The forum is for people to air their views.
If you pose a question looking for an answer or make a comment requesting an opinion, you really have to take the good with the bad and your reply says a lot more about you than it does about Brickies.
That is my opinion and I am happy to give it to you.

We travel full time with a thermo and would not be without it, ours travels safely on the bed between stops, we only use a small inverter for other low power items, so only run the thermo when on CP power so cannot help with inverter size required.
The problem with big inverters is they need very big batteries, and lots of solar or other charging input. Also big inverters are far from efficient and can consume quite large amounts of power even on standby.

Always rocking the Forum Boat Phantom, even when we are sailing on calm waters.....rarely starting an intelligent thoughtful thread....but always happy/prepared to give your
opinion....with little regard for the others "feelings"....there are a few occasions when you brighten up a thread....when you don't actually post...
If as you say you know nothing about Thermomix's....why stick your beak in at all?...or are you now the self appointed muscle man?.....
We travel with our highly versatile Thermomix and we both use it..replaces many other appliances...that's our main reason for caravan carriage/inclusion...
In your own words.."That is my opinion and I am happy to give it to you'.......
