Mr D tried to open our washing machine today in a bit of a hurry - it was not "unlocked", and it appears he may have broken the lock, so now I am unable to open the door. We have rung the Dometic agent in Launceston, who has suggested how to open it - to no avail. We have arranged for a washing machine tecno to come out on Thursday, but if we can open it ourselves, we will save the call out charge. Have searched Dometic website to no avail. All their instructions are how to unlock when using the machine (not if the lock is broken)
Does anyone have any suggestions.

Its a typical fault with front loader washing machines. The thermal door lock will have failed (common fault with front loaders) you will need to partly dismantle the machine to remove the switch. There is a PDF on the internet of the machine & parts & wiring diagram.

thanks DeBe. This is not due to a fault, but due to the fact that we have actually broken the lock.
Please supply link to PDF, as we have been searching all afternoon. WE have not been able to find a parts and wiring diagram that solves our issue.

Thanks DeBe. I have seen this document, but it does not help. Once I manage to get the machine open, then I can use the chart to buy what we need to fix (next stage). In the meantime, I have washing sitting in the machine and cannot open the door because the latch is broken.
I am trying to get help in opening the door which has a broken lock.

You will have to remove the top cover on the machine & get to the switch from the rear. Not an easy job as its betwean the Drum & the front of the machine (Personaly dislike front loaders to repair)

Thanks again DeBe. We managed to get the door open without taking the cover off the machine. On the advice of a dometic agent in Launceston, we got a lock pick, and pried behind the door catch until we hooked it onto the latch, the door sprang open. We are now in the process of ordering a new door latch, which in fact, is harder than opening the door!

I have it down loaded in my laptop. But try this http://cdn.webninjashops.com/gawler/images/syncfiles/540123.pdf It should be what I downloaded. Just tried it & the link works & the part is Door lock Thermal.
