Thinking of putting satelite in caravan. I know vasttree rivers run from 12v dc, are the Foxtel receivers capable of running on 12v dc or do they require an inverter?

As in another post here I previously ran my IQ on 12 volts and now my IQ2 on 12 volts.

G'day Symo2540
If your fox box has a "brick" style power pack it will very likely run on 12 v
just have a look at the label on the power pack and see what the output voltage is.
some of the older standard boxes were 240v only

Hi .KFT
You seem to be the absolute expert on foxtel/vast tv. I find your posts both interesting and very informative.
We have a satking vast box in the MH and recently wired in our home foxtel box which is a Foxtel MyStar unit.
Now the bloke who put it in said the Mysat box cant pick up local tv stations as per the later boxes . He said however it shouldn't matter as you probably wont receive the local stations anyway????
I intend to ask Foxtel for an upgraded box (one that will suit the MH :)) but not sure which one to ask for???? We have been whingers/members for 18 years.
Could you help me?
Thank you for any advice
Bas
