Same here. Just as well Aldi sells is at a good price. Ran out of cones at lunchtime. Guess it's gunna be in a bowl for tea.

The date is written in dark blue on the edge of the slightly less dark lid... pretty hard to see though.

You can return the empty container and get a refund, so now to go bin surfing.
Cheers

I'm curious as to the reason for the 1-year spread in "best before dates". Presumably all the affected products were produced on April 28 of this year, so how is it that some ice cream is good for 2 years while other ice cream is only good for 1 year? Moreover, if the plastic parts fell into one single batch of ice cream, and if this batch ended up in different products, then what does Unilever do to the ice cream to make it last longer in some products than others?
Two questions spring to mind here.
1. Do different flavours have different best-before dates?
2. Has it actually taken 12 months to realise there was a problem?

As the heading states, Products with best before dates between 28 April 2017 and 27 April 2018, were affected, Unilever said in a statement.

FYI, here is another link to the recall:

It might be safer to buy freshly made, tasty, hygienic ice-cream direct from the machine and in doing so create more employment.
