Maxxis Tyres.
I did read they were part of a larger tyre maker, possibly Michelin. It did grab my attention as I am gong to be looking for tyres in a couple of months and was thinking on the lines of Michelin, My thinking was if these are better or made on the same lines at a lower cost, court is still out just yet.
Worst part is trying to get good answers, most people say BF Goodrich, Coopers then you bump into a old friend tows a 5th wheeler/car trailer nearly everytime it comes out of the shed tells me 140000ks and still some to go, been rotated a few times, cost a bit extra to purchase and he thinks the returns are there in the long run.
Hope this throws a bit more confusion into it.
Their webb site is a good read, our son in Austria uses there mountain bike tyres with success but have still not thrown much light on your choice of tyre.

@ Radar, You said 14,000 Klms - Hard drawn cheese would do that. Did you mean 140,000, which would be fantastic mileage?
