I'm considering purchasing a Sunliner Mirage Motorhome, built on a Toyota Hilux chassis. It's a 2003 model, petrol automatic transmission (although I was looking for a diesel), and I'm wondering if there is anyone on this forum that either has one, or has any knowledge of one. I'm planning on becomming a solo traveller for the first time, although I have travelled extensively with my late husband but the time has unfortunately come when I will have to do it alone. All input welcomed, safe travels everyone.....
Cheers,
Annie

Wait for a diesel.
Get it weighed before you purchase it to make sure it will carry the fuel, water and personal stuff that you need.

Peter

I agree with Peter as well. Wait for a diesel. Better. More fuel efficient and will go a lot longer mileage than a petrol model ( I think ) Don't want to start WW3

Oh. Meant to say. The hilux is a good vehicle. If you can afford the d4d model, I think they started about 2007, great engine, fuel efficient and reliable. Its the 3 litre 4 cyclinder diesel. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone, I haven't made a final decision yet as the NRMA inspection won't be carried out until Saturday. If it's a good report I'm very tempted, firstly because it's a Toyota Hilux (we previously owned one) and secondly the fact that it has a low km reading - a bit over 120,000. Unfortunately an automatic diesel vehicle with the layout I prefer (double bed over cab), means a much bigger outlay than I want to spend. I don't intend "going around the block" again, so no major trips to worry about fuel consumption. No matter which way I go, I hope to be joining you on the road before too long. Thanks once again,
